Vocabulary Game

The game is simple.  I put our vocabulary words on different colored sheets of tag board.  (That way if a word gets mixed up with another stack, it's easy to spot.)  Words cards lie on top of table face up.  I call out a word.  Person to find it first slaps their hand down on top of the card, then takes the card and puts it to the side in "their pile".  Person with the most words wins!

(Hint:  Don't call out the last word when there's just one card left on the table.  Otherwise it becomes a wrestling match.)

The last issue of the newspaper “English” (#12(636), June 2014 was dedicated to wonderful contest “Taras Shevchenko In My Life”. This year is very special for Ukraine and the lines of Shevchenko’s poems are constantly in the air.

15 teachers and students from Solonyanshchyna participated in this contest. Many thanks to all of them for sharing their creative works with. They are incredible! I congratulate the winners whose essays are the most sincere, exciting, unique and advanced. Among them Olena Kondratska, a 10th form pupil, from Oleksandropil educational complex.

The best essays were published in that paper. Among them the essays by a teacher of English Tetyana Grabko (School of Solone #2, It is Me), a teacher of English Olena Shumska (School of Zhdanovo), 10^th form pupil Iryna Baraley (School of Trytuzne) and an 11^th form pupil Olena Mozul (Schoolof Yelizariv). Congratulations!
